Kik is an instant messaging service that can connect over wifi and is available on devices that have no mobile data connection. Kik has features like group chat, multimedia texts, and custom emojis but with the advent of similar services like iMessage, WhatsApp, and Facebook messenger people are opting to streamline their apps and delete their Kik accounts. As convenient as this is, many encounter issues when trying to deactivate Kik accounts. In this article, we’re going to go through the main ways one can delete their Kik account.

How to Delete Kik Account on Your Computer

While there is currently no way to permanently delete a Kik account users can deactivate Kik accounts in just a few simple steps. Follow these steps to deactivate your Kik account:

1. Open your web browser and visit Kik’s account deactivation page.

2. Enter the email address you used to create our Kik account in the white rectangular box marked ‘enter your email’.

3. Click on the green button that says go. Doing so will allow Kik to send you an email with a deactivation link.

4. Once you receive and open the email you will be prompted to follow the deactivation link by clicking on the oval button that says ‘deactivate Kik’ in blue letters.

5. The deactivation page will open and show a deactivation notice notifying you that your account is no longer active but can be reactivated at any time by logging in to Kik messenger with your email and passenger.

How to Delete Kik Account on a Mobile Device

1. Open the Kik app on your device and navigate to the settings menu. Choose the option to delete your conversation history if you like, then log out of your account.

2. Exit the app and use your devices web browser to access the Kik deactivation page at https://ws.kik.com/deactivate.
