By default, the iPhone will display the name of your cellular carrier in the upper-left corner of the screen, next to the indicator of your current network strength. Changing the carrier name required jailbreaking in the past, but a new tool called CarrierEditor allows you to easily set a custom carrier name. How to Change Carrier Name on iPhone Without Jailbreak

Follow the steps below to use CarrierEditor to alter the carrier name on your iPhone. Note that CarrierEditor is only available for Mac users.

Step 1: Download a free copy of CarrierEditor on your Mac, and double-click on the .dmg file that downloads.
Step 2: Double-click on the “CarrierEditor.app” icon to launch the tool.
Step 3: Click the “Let’s Get Started” button in the window that appears.
Step 4: Open the Settings application on your iPhone, go to the “General” category, and tap on “About.” Scroll down through the list of information until you see “Carrier,” and note the version number that is listed.
Step 5: Enter the version number from the previous step into the dialog box in CarrierEditor. Then, click “Next.”
Step 6: Click to highlight the name of your device and your current carrier.
Step 7: Choose one of the provided logos or drag a custom carrier name from your computer into the CarrierEditor window.
Step 8: Click the “Compile Carrier Update” button, and wait for the .ipcc file to be saved to your desktop.
Step 9: Connect your iPhone to your computer, and launch the iTunes application.
Step 10: Press the “option” key on your keyboard, and click “Restore iPhone.”
Step 11: Navigate to your desktop, and double-click on the .ipcc file that was generated by CarrierEditor. Make sure not to use the file with “original” in its file name. Once your iPhone restarts, the new carrier name will appear in the upper-left corner of the screen.

It is recommended to perform a full backup of your iPhone through iTunes prior to using the CarrierEditor tool to change a carrier name.
