How to Change IMEI Number on iPhone

Your iPhone’s IMEI number is an essential security feature, as you can use it to track your phone in case someone steals it. In case you change it, keep your new IMEI safe, as you may face complications should you want to track it later. Changing your IMEI number is equivalent to forfeiting your phone warranty.

You need to make sure your phone has the following four things before you start the processes of changing the IMEI on your iPhone. The software ZiPhone that you are going to use to change your IMEI will only work if you make these adjustments.

  • Make sure you know your current IMEI number, or dial *#06# on your phone to get it.
  • Your iPhone should be unlocked for you to be able to change the IMEI.
  • Changing your IMEI only works on 4.6 BL (112 and 113 ootb).
  • Jailbreak your Phone.

With the above things in mind, here is how to change the IMEI number on your iPhone.

Step 1: Download the ZiPhone software, and make sure you have extracted the zipped file package.
Step 2: Press the windows key and R concurrently to flash out the Run Window. Type in CMD, and press OK to launch the command prompt.
Step 3: Type the command “cd Desktop/ZiPhone” into the available command prompt to help you navigate the ZiPhone directory.
Step 4: The program will, at this stage, prompt you to start your phone in recovery mode. To manage this, press the sleep button and the power buttons concurrently until you see the Apple logo. Step 5: When you see the logo, release the sleep button. Wait until you see the iTunes logo and cable on your screen.
Step 6: Since you are using a 4.6 BL iPhone, you can go ahead and activate, jailbreak, and unlock your phone by typing in this command: “ziphone -u -i a123456789012345”. Remember the underlined number is your current IMEI number.
Step 7: Replace it with another number of your choice.
Step 8: The software will search for your iPhone until it finds it. You will wait for about 2 minutes. Then, your iPhone will reboot and unlock having a new IMEI number.
